Since 1973 Simax Classics has presented repertoire from the finest composers of the western classical tradition. Throughout the aim has been to give their listeners the highest quality recordings of the finest performances. In this period the activity and quality of Norwegian musicians has seen a tremendous boost, headed by the younger generations. This development has inspired their work, and at Simax Classics they are very proud to be part of it. They have had the opportunity to introduce both new artists and new music to the international scene together with releases of legacy recordings from great artists of the past. Simax Classics in 2005 presents a comprehensive catalogue of classical music with the hope of reaching audiences all over the world.

Since day one Simax Classics has developed an audio philosophy with the aim of serving the classical music tradition in the best possible way. With in-depth knowledge and love of this music as their basis, they have always let their ears and hearts, rather than any technical models, lead them in their work. Special care for those all-important nuances of colour, image depth, instrumental balance and dynamics are the foundations of the Simax Sound. The best technology around, whether old or new, is their means towards this end. Of course stereo recordings have been prevailing for the better part of their existence, but they have worked with surround recordings since 1995. In 2004 their first release in this format was available, and in 2005 4 more titles will appear.
