In 1946 Sir Thomas Beecham set out to create a world-class ensemble from the finest musicians in the country. Beecham envisioned an orchestra that would bring the greatest music to audiences across the world and, to this day, Beecham's legacy lives on through the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Chamber Soloists of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is a versatile ensemble consisting of principal players of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Serenade No 12 consists of eight winds, while No 10 consists of thirteen winds.

Mozart Wind Serenades was recorded on 21st August 2007, during the Summer Serenade concerts of the Chamber Soloists of the RPO in the superb acoustics of Cadogan Hall, home of the Royal Philharmonic.

Mozart Wind Serenades was engineered, produced and mastered by acclaimed classical recording engineerTony Faulkner in vibrant 24bit 88.2 kHz (high resolution) digital.

The marriage of the UKs most prestigious orchestra with the UKs foremost high-end audio product manufacturer and label is pure destiny. It represents a significant introduction for Naim's brand new Classicallabel and all involved hope it will be a long and prosperous relationship.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This twinpack consists of an audio CD (16bit 44.1kHz) and a data DVD that contains master hi-res WAV files (24bit 88.2 kHz). The hi-resolution audio data files on the DVD are all in one master folder which is called by the artist name. This can be simply dragged and dropped (also called copy and paste) onto a local computer drive for mosteffective playback. These files are stored in the industry standard file structure and include cover art and track titles. The DVD will not playback when inserted into CD, HDCD, SACD or DVD-A players, for this reason the audio CD has been provided.
